INVESTING IN GIRLS

The fact that most developmental programs around the world are biased towards men is true.  The fact that an investment in a woman is the truest investment in a family and community is true.  The fact that among people that are at risk in the world, an African teenage girl is the most vulnerable is also arguably true.

GIRLS NETBALL::

This is why we have chosen to step up the game and do more for girls in Chinsapo, Malawi, by introducing a NETBALL PROGRAM to complement our recently launched girls soccer team.  The program will give us an opportunity to provide mentoring and life skills training to girls in their normal rhythm of life.

Netball is played on a rectangular court with raised goal rings at each end. Each team attempts to score goals by passing a ball down the court and shooting it through its goal ring. Players are assigned specific positions, which define their roles within the team and restrict their movement to certain areas of the court. The sport is a variation of basketball and it is very popular among the commonwealth countries with over 20 million players in over 60 countries.

Currently, the Malawi Netball Team ranks 5th in the World.
