There is so much going on in Kasungu. Malawi’s first president, His Excellency Dr. H Kamuzu Banda was from this district. Because of this, he built one of the country’s most prestigious schools there. He also built on of the country’s most admirable villages that still stands to this day.
A few of The Chisomo Idea’s leaders come from this district; therefore working there has always been our desire. We are still in our research and exploratory stages.
Location: 2 hours north of the capital, Lilongwe.
In Malawi the vast majority of the population lives scattered in many rural villages, while about 15% live in cities. The latter are privileged to have access to quality education, jobs, electricity, telephones, food, and transportation. Not only do most villagers lack these advantages, they also struggle to meet their daily needs in regard to food and water. Needless to say, the cycle of poverty in these villages has repeated itself for generations.
Our children centers provide opportunities for urban youth to invest in the lives of village children by providing them with training and resources that they would otherwise not be able to have.
Academic development, health and hygiene, sports and recreation, and spiritual development.
