Kudoku Children Center
Kudoku was The Chisomo Idea’s second Children’s Center. It is also the center that serves the most kids. Many of our overseas visitors stop by this center because of its close proximity to the Lilongwe International Airport and the city of Lilongwe. None-the-less, Kudoku is very remote and has a lot of destitute kids whose hopes and dreams continue to inspire us. This is only our only center that runs in conjunction with our THEATER OF DREAMS Sports program.
Location: A few kilometers North West of the capital, Lilongwe.
Children’s Centers Program Rationale:
In Malawi the vast majority of the population lives scattered in many rural villages, while about 15% live in cities. The latter are privileged to have access to quality education, jobs, electricity, telephones, food, and transportation. Not only do most villagers lack these advantages, they also struggle to meet their daily needs in regard to food and water. Needless to say, the cycle of poverty in these villages has repeated itself for generations.
Our Vision:
Our children centers provide opportunities for urban youth to invest in the lives of village children by providing them with training and resources that they would otherwise not be able to have.
Operating Objectives:
Academic development, health and hygiene, sports and recreation, and spiritual development.
