Our Vision
At Chisomo we are passionate about developing the next generation. To this effect, we have created a yearly conference that allows us to speak into the lives of young and passionate emerging leaders. The event brings together young people from different communities around Malawi to hear and learn from experts in different fields – including the fields of business, farming, sports and entertainment.
This National Conference happens in July but it creates an ongoing community that interacts through WhatsApp and social media throughout the year, helping people that want to do the most good for their country to continue to support each other.
Program Progress
So far we have run one very successful Conference which was a proof of concept event. The conference brought in young people from different parts of Malawi’s Capital City, Lilongwe, to a beautiful and iconic hotel where they got to learn from men and women that have been successful in different sectors of life.
The speakers were selected across various sectors of society like sports, TV personalities, Entrepreneurs, farmers, etc. The young leaders that participated in the event are connected through the medium of Whatsapp to continue the dialogue and support each other in their various endeavors and startups.
Our 2023 Goal
In 2023 we want to double the number of participants that we had in 2022 from 80 to 160. We also want to make sure that there are at least 5 new initiatives, business or social enterprises that are created from the conference, vetted with seed money provided for the initiatives. We also want to make sure that people are paired up in groups so that they can best support each other in their other pursuits.
