Scholarship Program

Our Vision

In Malawi, there are a lot of students who love education and who are both intelligent and motivated to pursue their academic careers who don’t have the means to do so. Painfully, there are far too many students in this category. A lot of these students end up being frustrated and dropping out from school, sometimes at 8th grade but often at Form 4, which is the last year of high school.

Because of this, Chisomo created a scholarship program. This program is designed to identify aforementioned students and provide them with needed resources to pursue their academic dreams.

Although the majority of students that are supported have been supported to attend local schools, as many as 6 students have had the opportunity to get connected to colleges in the United States.

Program Progress

So far 4 out of 6 students that had US College scholarships have graduated. 2 are still in college finishing their degrees and are earmarked to graduate in 2023. The 6 students attended the Masters University and San Diego Christian College both in California.

Among those studying locally Chisomo has been able to sponsor over 130 students. We are currently supporting 20 students.

Our 2023 Goal

In 2023 we want to add 2 more students to our international college scholarships. Both students have had preliminary contact with an American University. We also want to continue to engage the students that have graduated with opportunities to support new students along their academic path.

CAmong students that attend school locally, our goal is to raise the number from 20 to 40. We also want to make sure that all students have proper support beyond the scholarship to flourish and finish their academic pursuit well.
